We Have Always Been Broken was a site-specific show consisting of large plaster wall pieces. I spent two years experimenting with using plaster, and many of these experiments were installed in this show. I developed a technique of using inked printmaking plates as molds to cast plaster forms. This enabled me to embed a print into a plaster form. I used this process to create large plaster wall pieces that responded to the Oxbow's gallery. Oxbow's space has high ceilings and is filled with natural light. My off-balanced white plaster work was installed along the ground and appeared to be sinking. My intent was to activate the pristine white walls as a visual pressure.
